In the old core we had this ongoing thread about how bad Detroit is. Here's a video of a woman waiting for the police to show up after her house was broken into.

pssst, that's a local fox network affiliate. ;-)
haha :-)
It just drove me a little mad as the guy I stayed with prior to the hurricane and election was a mad Fox News fan. All I can remember is Benghazi news and other relentless repetition of election stuff. Some of them were fit, others just got on my wick.
Yeah, they all have a slant of some type. For the least biased reporting we watch bbc news. ;-)

When you read, it's hard to keep in mind that this is within a city. It sounds more like the coal fields of Appalachia in the 60s.
Some GREAT photos !! (Y)
This is a 3 part series:

And I think sort of worth watching. Part 1 and 2 are sort of inspiring and the 3rd part will punch you gut.
Part of me wants to open a satellite office there.

That is rather amazing.
That looks like a lot of work, but I'd do it! Love that they are skiiers not snowboarders...

Thats kinda pricey for residential demolition. I guess they had to factor in the, uuhhh, overhead (wink wink) for doing business in D.
Yeah, over 20k per home, when they are small and likely so close?
Yeah, factoring in something for sure.
Cool photos rooftop, looks like most of those started going downhill by being burned out.
Thanks for sharing. I can't wrap my head around wanting to stay in a place like Detroit.
There are so much amazing architecture and history in Detroit. It makes me sad it is in such a bad state. It so much of American history.
Baltimore was our next Detroit. I thought it would be Newark.
