Post by: Mackin USA on August 08, 2013, 03:02:56 PM
I'm new to the PC world having been a MAC man all my spamming life, so here is my ???

I restarted this AM and now have an icon on my desktop with one GREEN ball & 3 BLUE balls hhh
It reads "Homrgroup"

I've never been any part of a GROUP of computers.

It will not let me trash it !!!

WTF is it and how can I get it off my desktop?

I think you always have a Home Group, which is basically your immediate network which in my case and yours is one machine (even though other machines share the network, they're not part of the Home Group and therefore having higher level access to each other).

So if there is no home group for your computer to become a part of, it sets up it's own group which you can supposedly use for sharing printers and whatnot.

I think this article is for you. It starts out
QuoteYou may have heard of Windows 7's Homegroup feature before, but never really understood what it did. It's actually the simplest way to share files between two Windows machines, and it takes seconds to set up
