Title: Petition against big brands in Google search
Post by: Rupert on November 22, 2013, 05:40:15 PM
I found this while looking for a way to start black listing certain sites from my search results.

I want to remove any amazon, ebay, asos, tesco etc.  from the organic search listing. Not PPC though. Why, as they are generally better targeted.

Heck, I know what they sell, and if I wanted their product I will go there. Amazon only if it the last place on earth left to try.

I am sure there used to be a way of telling google not to show specific site.  Voting them down in some way.   But anyway, along the way, I found this:

Signed up. I doubt it will make a difference, but thought it worth the effort.

I find Amazon's own search to be so poorly done that I use G to find stuff within their site.

Somewhere that could make an impact is plugins, something that deletes the top 1000 brands from the results, fetching the 2nd page if necessary.

Saying that it might need to fetch the 3rd, 4th and 5th pages to get a full 10 results.

No kidding. "Select category to enable sorting" WTF?

Kind of hard to believe their search still sucks this bad.
