I pay for Majestic and am a big fan, but I've been trying this as an alternative lately: http://webmeup.com/tools/backlinks.html

I was skeptical at first, but I've been getting more and more impressed by it. I didn't think that they'd have a comparable crawl depth to majestic, but I've actually found that the two show up comparable backlinks to one another (with one beating the other on one site and the reverse happening on another). It's pretty too... and free for up to 1,000,000 backlinks per site.

I love ahrefs. It's a subscription too far for me though. I end up working too much of the month just to pay for the tools !

Great tool, really like it so far. Some of the link results were better than hrefs.

I'm sure it will go paid soon.
