So I finally got around to looking up the musical artists from my favorite new show, Vikings.
Music by Wardruna is awesome! You guys ever listen?
Raz/Tor you get this show over there?
All I know about that show is that it keeps popping up in Amazon Prime for free viewing. I simple saw the cover art and it has never grabbed me. So yes, I judged the show by the DVD cover.
Just curious, what makes it your new favorite? I guess it goes without saying that you think it's worth a watch.
Never heard of it
It's not very deep, but it's a blood and guts tale of real vikings back in the day with longboats to England and pillaging and whatnot.
Think quasi 300 or Gladiator style serialized about vikings in the 9th century. Less about story and more about characters, scenery, and culture.
Certainly not for everyone (Amy generally hates it b/c of the violence) but I likey.
And here's some Wardruna:

My wife is into True Blood, Game of Thrones and a host of violent films. That won't bother her. I'm the one who like actual story that's not too predictable. Sounds like she'd love it though.
She just took my Kindle Fire to work to download some new shows (the internet at home is not adequate to the task, sadly)
Been watching some of the trailers. However I think it's on HBOnordic which is PPW here and not that popular.
Might need to look into though? You like it Dras?
Yeah, it's good, if you like that kind of thing.
It's from History channel here, not sure if the hbo one is the same.
Ok, prolly not the same then:
http://hbonordic.com/series/-/-/vikings/seasons/1 couldn't find it on HBO.com tho.
This is the one you're watching Dras? http://www.history.com/shows/vikings
Yep, that's the one, figured it might be different.
Here's a trailer:

Vikings is one of my favorite shows too. I don't know how "real" it is storyline wise, but they did base the characters on several historical figures. I think what is most "real" about the show is that it attempts to show what life was like back in the day.
The costuming is amazing, and the plot keeps you watching. Excellent show.
It's very deep.
It's partly funded by the History (capital H) channel.
The actors are trained in Scandiwegian accents.
The Main Man hams it up like Shatner - his charisma allows it.
It has Sex and Death - the two great themes of all art and literature (if they are deemed seperable).
I love it, i have an amateur's interest in history and, as historical dramas go, it's surprisingly accurate.
Give Freya The Day !
Methinks me better get looking at this :)
>Scandiwegian accents
That's a new one! :) Bork, bork..
I just found out I've been watching the censored version.
Only a couple minutes difference per ep, but still, good enough reason to rewatch the first season soon.
