Title: Where the Southern Accent *really* came from...
Post by: grnidone on August 12, 2014, 06:04:08 PM
"People with a southern accent aren't really ignorant, as most people will believe.  They are just talking like their ancestors so many years ago."

It is very interesting to hear the southern accent "sped up" such that it sounds British or French.

I never quite got that stereotype.  Sure, there are ignorant people in the South, just like the rest of the world.  Most of the best writers in the US are from the South.

But she didn't really speed up her speech, she just changed the accent she was using.  It would be interesting to speed it up though.
