Anyone hear any scuttlebutt on a release date for Ubuntu phones in the USA? I'm starting to get nervous as it seems even puff piece articles have dried up and Tizen, Windows Phone both seem to be withering, Jolla is exporting to the developing world and darkest Russia leaving me holding out for Ubuntu phone and carrier roulette or upgrade my Blackberry 10 device.

Blackberry? Its an EndGame isn't it:

Unless there is a plan to do something with the brand?
>Ubuntu Touch
Thanks RC. The fog is lifting.
>Blackberry
Blackberry actually stopped bleeding red ink and is now turning a small profit. They are not out of the woods yet but they are not in free fall. Blackberry OS10 is actually quite good, the company understands smartphones as a communication device not just a handheld computer and I think they cover a nice middle ground between, free for all Android, and overly controlled iPhone. Helping them has been this NSA business and awareness about personal information security.
>Thanks RC
Hot off the newsreader. Luckily, they didn't use the word 'Blackberry' in their headline.
This'll make a good test subject, I've set up 'Ubuntu Touch','ubuntu phone' in the positive newsfeed filters. We'll see what happens.

Great news. didn't know that, thanks Brad. google need a bit more competition.
I cannot like this new iphone 6 plus.
A mate was showing it off yesterday, in its full jacket to stop it bending.
i do like the cyanogen privacy guard feature. stops all unnecessary phoning home, I hope.
So far my best source for Touch news has been the Linux Feed on NewsNow.co.uk when I remember to check it. NN works better on a laptop than tablets.
I can hold out till December.

EU and China getting is in 1Q 2015 with Mizu UI overlay. US maybe later.
This makes my decision easy, BB has Z30 unlocked GSM on sale now for around $260, I'm going with that until they work all the bugs out of Ubuntu phone. Tired of being a beta tester.
>beta
Louise is a good candidate for a phablet. We're sitting out this round of releases but keeping an eye on the Nexus 6.
Yeah, the Z10 is a bit small. The Z30 has 5 inch screen. Friend has a iPhone 6+ looks like she is holding a tablet to her ear but I like the big screen. Guess I'm getting old, eyes are crapping out.
