SEMPO and Other Leading Search Marketing Groups Unite in Call for Delegates to Frame Search Marketing Code of Ethics
Huge clusterfuck.
How long has SEMPO been in existence now and still they get this shit wrong?

Some funny stuff here:
"D*cks will be d*cks and an unethical SEO is already subject to online reviews and many laws related to fraud, yet that does not stop them. Does anyone really think a group with an SEO code of ethics will?"
I look at stuff like this as creative marketing, not much else.

sempo needs a reason to exist and this is part of it. And didn't they argue for this 10 years ago?
that was their opening gambit wasn't it?
I have never once had a client mention SEMPO to me. Or seen reference to it in any serious pitch I've been sent to review. I think if we've got 10 years down the line and they don't have even that cutthrough, then we possibly can't expect much from this...
