Yeah. Our national weather service says that they do not believe that the US will have another 'polar vortex' winter. With snow in SC this early, I think they just might be guessing.
Though weather doesn't align globally with lat/lon except for generalities, it gives some perspective to note that Columbia, SC is on the 34N parallel ...along with Algeria, Tunisia, Beirut.
We've had the warmest October in modern history here. Still pretty damn warm considering we're in November now. I'm wondering when winter really kicks in that we might have ice and snow going into May.. eww.
26 here in Ha noi, I'm in shorts and flip flops.
Locals are shivering and have broken out the North Face puffa jackets.

Snow is great moisture. Next year's harvests should be great! My father always says "Snow in November is money in the bank."
