We have had a monoculture in default browser search engines for a long time. It is a pity there is not more competition.

is FF the default browser on anything? Because being the default SE on a browser that only people bright enough to know how to change a default will ever use doesn't sound like a ground breaking business plan to me.

Only on most of the popular Linux distros, as far as I know.
Yeah, I don't know too many Linux users who will be into using Y for search. It would have been interesting if they chose DDG.
