Title: Local optimization article
Post by: littleman on December 30, 2014, 05:56:52 PM
This article examines how Domino's pizza is doing local SEO:

As someone who hasn't had to do much local optimization I found the article informative.  Obviously Domino's has some advantage of size, budget and scale, but some of their techniques could be duplicated with smaller players.

That's a superb article. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up being one of the best of 2015.

It's a nice analysis of G+ and their site.

I think 2015 is the year of schema markup for the masses (2014 being the year of schema markup for the insiders).

It would be nice for the report to address other local.

Is there a relationship between Yelp and Apple Maps? I don't know but when you verify in Apple Maps it asks for your Yelp profile and both had the same incorrect address for us.

Since Apple Maps is the default mapping for any iWhatever user, it has to be part of your local strategy, and by implication Yelp!

One thing that people repeat and I think is true is that citation consistency is paramount in local.

So good article on a couple of points, but I would like to see someone with local expertise look at a broader picture
