Title: HTTP/2 finished, coming to browsers within weeks
Post by: bill on February 19, 2015, 04:12:02 AM
According to all the hype, HTTP/2 should be faster, more efficient, and more secure (due to the addition of mandatory TLS). Are we ready for the new protocol?

It will be a binary protocol.

That in itself means that there will be a new breed of technical SEOs / webmasters being created.

I was poring over the spec and a lot of the commentary on it last night.

It's SPDY, with a few changes.

Seems there'll be negotiation on what protocol to use too, so things will be able to fall back to 1.1 when 2 isn't available.

Some idiot posted "HTTP 2 is coming - what it means for you" on Webmasterworld about a year ago but there didn't seem to be much interest... http://www.webmasterworld.com/website_technology/4656016.htm
