I know many of you bought HP Touch Pads during the $99 fire sale. I purchased one for my mom, and she just upgraded to an iPad.. I was thinking I could upgrade the Touch to Android, since the WebOS software is starting to show its age. Have any of you done this? If so, how well does it work?
Is there any other OS I could use that would work well? I have used android on a phone and hated it.

Yep, I installed cyanogen mod not long after I got my touchpad, been running it since and use it almost daily still. Crashes from time to time, maybe once a week, but runs solidly otherwise. I mainly use it for browsing. My habitual use of too many tabs (141 on this browser atm) may be the cause of my crashes.
Little: do I need to install Android first and then cyanogen?
cyanogen is a flavor of android, and its not necessarily the best thing to install on a tp today. It was back when I did it, but find the most recent rom people are having success with and go with that.
