Title: Channel Master DVR+
Post by: rcjordan on March 15, 2015, 11:34:46 PM
Any problems skipping commercials while watching a 'live' OTA program (that is, one not previously recorded)?

I didn't even know you could do that!

Some mentor YOU are.  Yeah, and you can change the amount of time you want to jump forward when you hit the button on the remote.  15 seconds increments, I think.

Sorry, I mostly catch the news while cooking or eating so not near remote.  Best thing about ChannelMaster is the grid menu of braodcast stations and programs: blows everything else away.

I've got a ton of MHz Network programs recorded, but most have no commercials.

Don't be so sensitive, hhh.

Yeah, quality and ui of the grid is the reason they're top dawg. Did you use the wifi dongle? When I get this one for Louise, I'll patch it into the network if there's a jack open on the switch. Hardwired is mo better, probably.

I did use the wifi thingy, and it has worked great.  The unit is very thin which is a plus.  Good remote too.  Channel Master costs but you get what you pay for and it's worth it not having to fight with your equipment UI every time you turn the set on.  I added a Seagate USB drive which is about the size of a pack of cigarettes and half as thick.

Channel Master tells you when new firmware is available and installs on your okay.  Did that once and it was pretty seamless update.

FTFY:  it's worth it not having to LISTEN ABOUT THE fight with your HER equipment UI every time you SHE turns the set on.

CM just announced they're adding a Slingtv app. Consensus is that you won't be able to record the stream, so it just takes the place of another device like roku.
