QuoteFacebook beat Google with 8.9 percent of all US visits, while the search site ranked second with 7.2 percent of all visits, according to online tracking service Experian Hitwise.

QuoteGoogle was the most visited site in the US in 2009 and 2008. MySpace made the top spot for visits in 2007. It is now ranked 7th.

However, Google still reigns as the most visited site in the US with 9.9 percent of all visits in 2010 when figuring in all of the company's properties, which includes widely used video-hosting site YouTube.

Yahoo and all its properties ranks third in visits with 8.1 percent.

A dating ad that popped up on Facebook the other day reminded me how some niches make a great natural fit with Facebook and others that don't.

I would guess these would do well on FB (I have no idea what FB restricts and what they don't mind you):

- dating
- tickets (I see concert tickets pop up all the time, I actually pay attention to those ads)
- jobs/job search/employment/career advancement
- education
- deals/coupons/vouchers
- cellphones/mobile
- humor sites
- non-profit/social causes
