Yeah, mod_perl is great if the code is written well, its not very forgiving though. I also recall that Brett used a lot of flat files instead of database calls to speed things up. That was like 10+ years ago though.

It's always what I use to test my connection when things seem unresponsive. Google is so bloated now.
I think the same old look was maintained partly because there are a lot of people there who resist any change. So I expect any changes will go stepwise.

First thing I noticed when I looked, same old logo from what, 2002? By design standards back then, it wasn't so bad yeah?
