Title: Microsoft Dumping Silverlight from New Edge Browser
Post by: Brad on July 03, 2015, 01:50:05 PM
MS is not including Silverlight as one of the plugins in it's new Edge browser.

I'm not a big Silverlight fan.  When it works it is pretty neat, but it's always a pain around my house finding a device that will display Silverlight: my tablets and my Ubuntu laptop won't run it which for years left only my elderly iMac and Safari.  Too much trouble.

Good riddance. Getting rid of Flash and Silverlight will lower a lot of the inevitable security issues for this new browser. I'm surprised MS won't be including this as we all know their fondness for backward compatibility.
