In an age of digital transactions, demand for British banknotes and coins continues to grow to satisfy off-the-books work.

I've thinking about making a thread on this. I knew the US 'off the books' market was big, but the recession made me more aware of it re labor.  But the big eye-opener was my CL-scanner and entry into professional hoarding. Want a bulldozer or excavator? They're on CL.

A roadside vegetable stand is a fantastic seasonal part-time business to get rolling, as the startup costs are minimal, the profit potential is great and the demand for fresh, in-season vegetables is high. The key to success in this type of food retailing is to secure a good location to operate the vegetable stand from. Excellent locations include gas station parking lots, industrial parks and main highways in and out of busy tourist areas & RC's front yard.

The IRS has algos that estimate what your reported income should be if you run a cash biz. If that fails, and they are *really* out to get you, they can do a 'net worth audit' (rare, but they did pull that on a bootlegger here).

But, for a small-time operator, CL arbitrage could probably stay off the radar entirely.  I've met one guy locally who looks to be doing that. After expenses, I'd be surprised if he makes min wage.
