When does a tablet become a touch tv?

I wonder how they see it being used.

I have a 13.3" convertible laptop that can be used as a tablet.  It's too big to do so and has probably been used in that mode 4 or 5 times in 2 years.

I see a niche for the (surprising to me) number of (often elder) viewing Luddites who insist on a sit-down TV experience every evening.  I do see these luddites acknowledging that their ways are dying. This big sucker might act as a bridge device for them.

Also, visually handicapped users ...and there is a crapload of them.

Although I feel the bottom is about to fall out of the market for smaller, expensive tablets

So bigger may be Samsung's hope of saving their tablet business.

Alienware discontinued their 18.4 inch (Samsung screen) laptops early 2015. They're back, but I think volume is low.
Perhaps this is an attempt to sell unused inventory?
