I am going to have to write a bot that runs 24/7 eventually and I am planning on using a Pi for that.  It just makes sense for cost and energy consumption.

I was just gifted a bunch of Arduino boards and I too have a Pi in the original box. That thread is inspiring. Might need to find a rainy weekend to set something up.

The problem with the original Pi is that it's really underpowered compared to the newer models. Most of the really cool projects make use of the newer Pi.

That's why I've not tried to get rid of it, but there for a project if someone wanted.

I've been thinking about upgrading to ver 3 (2 is pretty solid), but heard they run pretty damn hot. I wonder if we're halfway to release of ver 4 already.
