Yeah I was looking at pi hole from the other thread. Seems like the best solution since they can't sniff an extension/addon.
AdBlock Plus has great name recognition among the unwashed masses. That's why they are going to be catching a lot of people with this ploy. It's ranked well in the app stores and it's what most will install just because it has ad+block in the name.
Anyone serious about ad blocking would be using uBlock Origin. Don't bother with uBlock or μBlock. Those are older, likely unmaintained branches. It's open source and isn't in the pockets of the ad industry like AdBlock and Ghostery.
Privacy Badger won't cull ads. It stops cross site cookie tracking. That's a good one to have running, but you won't notice any improvements in your browser like you will with uBlock Origin.

I guess it does block some ads too. I always thought it was for cookies, but I guess they're also getting the tracking bugs on pages which makes sense,
It's clunky, UI is horrific. And no way to export/import your settings. At 2100+ "Potential Tracking Domains" it would take -literally- days to go through and manually set them to block.
