If I didn't have old Yahoo Directory listings tied to some accounts I would have killed them long ago. I wonder if people will start terminating their accounts after this.

I keep threatening to terminate my Yahoo mail accounts but never have. But with Yahoo eroding and sale pending it might be time.
In Yahoo!'s defence, Gmail and Hotmail were probably forced to do the same thing.

Likely, but we don't have evidence that they were quite this complicit. One story I read implied that Yahoo went behind the back of the security officer and had this implemented by normal programmers. The stories coming out about the clashes between security departments and top management show that this company cares nothing for the privacy and security of their users.
