The Meat & Black Coffee Diet is soon to be over anyway as I'm near goal, but diabetic diets are roughly the same as keto diets.
The article talks about sailors getting scurvy on long voyages but low levels of Vitamin C were a problem anywhere that had long winters. Many people would end up with some degree of scurvy after months with no fresh fruit or vegetables.
Ironically it was often a rich man's disease. Poor peasants who subsisted on low-status turnips and other root vegetables were less likely to get scurvy than folks who mostly ate meat and bread.
Do you like veggies RC? You could stay in ketosis and still eat a good amount of non-starchy plant stuff.
For C you could take in a little bit of citrus fruit and eat some liver every once in a while.
On a side note, it looks like there is evidence that calcium supplementation linked to heart damage.
