Been researching a new tv for the living room and more confused than ever..
Thought just pickung 50" and getting it done was easy. Not so much as there are so many options..
Can anyone recommend something, anything.. not so keen on a projector, but if that is the best option so be it..
Got recommendations for something in the 50 inch range?
Wouldn't Amz Best Sellers give you a good place to research? It's been handy for me to see the current brands selling when I decide I'm in the market for an appliance and realize tech has evolved (or -more likely- the old good-quality brands have been replaced with junk).
A quick run through the US version turns up

(I'm not keen on the 'Smart' crap, though.)
I've had good luck with Samsung. They've been highly-rated for a long time. I have also considered Sony and LG.
Do you use smart TV features, or something external like Roku/Chromecast instead? If you don't need smart TV features, many brands have less expensive models with similar/identical screens.
Finally, there is usually a big discount for buying last-year's model. Picture quality doesn't change much (if at all) year-to-year.
>use smart TV features
Yeah, features such as
Advanced Spying are in high demand.
QuoteThis week, Vizio, one of the biggest makers of internet-connected televisions, agreed to pay $2.2 million to settle charges that it has been collecting and selling viewing data from millions of TVs without the knowledge or consent of the sets' owners.

Did you make a decision? I have an old projector, and love it. I think it would improve massively with higher lumens and better contrast, but the 72 inch scene more than makes up for anything lacking. Bearing in mind it is 10 years old, the colours are OK, and certainly make a modern TV look too vivid.
That said, we are not a family to have the TV on, unless we sit down to watch something.
