I dubbed May as
Hell Month in my family jargon back when I had kids in school. Friday, I emailed a daughter who is always online. Dark. Saturday, I texted. Still dark. I'm slightly concerned by this morning as she never fails to reply, so I emailed again;
Tap! Tap! Is this thing on??Her reply:
QuoteSorry! Sorry! It's that weekend. You know the one - hell weekend, the introduction to Hell Month. Friday was prom, Saturday, the girls had a birthday party, and Sunday was recital. Tomorrow is senior slideshow and yearbooks.
My reply:
Quote>Hell Month
Yes, I remember. My only advice is to put your head between your knees and brace for impact.
Calling May Hell-Month is completely accurate in my household.
It's worse with girls, I think. Recitals, particularly dance recitals, are a massive, massive time-suck and PITA. For a couple of weeks beforehand, the tutus and costumes were piled around the house so deep you had to wade through them. The main living areas of the house looked a lot like that Aeroflot turbulence video Gimp posted --or at least that's what if felt like.
Ah OK, got it. In the UK, May is GCSE exams at 16....
