Title: How to fund a long retirement

QuoteIn essence, you'll need to save enough – if you want the same standard of living in retirement as you had while working – to fund a much longer retirement than you might have anticipated.

Some good numbers in this article. It's not as inane as the headline sounds.

Back in 2011, I wrote a js retirement calculator for couples --basically a hacked & tortured spreadsheet that could individually specify & apply inflation/depreciation/interest to a column. Then I poured my balance sheet into it, choosing some reasonable times for asset sales, major purchases, etc. I chose 91 as the DOD (and took flak from Louise on that).  I've been using those numbers and delayed SSA until 70, continued working, yada-yada.

We *might* squeak by.
