Disconcerting: Discovered 3 days *after* it passed 1/3 the moon's distance from Earth.

If that hit in near a populated area it would have been devastating.

If you are shock melted, you escape the air blast, AND you don't have to worry about the ear drum rupture. Seems like a good option.  :D
