I have to wonder how Patreon is going to handle this. A little nudity for cash isn't a big deal imo, but it does open the door to other controversies that could get them some political heat.
Loads of stuff of an adult nature is "hidden". I heard 40%+
Interested in the tech they have on NakedBaker.com where you can only see posts if you have "donated" $10+ or $50+. Nice model. No pun intended.
Sam Harris just left Patreon because they "deplatformed" a conservative journalist without warning or explanation. And though Sam Harris is not a conservative journalist and doesn't know why this person was deplatformed (and admitted he doesn't even know what the journalist writes and whether he would find it offensive), he says he won't center on a platform that could pull the rug out from under him from one moment to the next.
The above came from the intro to his podcast with David Brooks. Here is an article on it

QuotePatreon's CEO subsequently denied that his company's decision to terminate Southern's account was motivated by political consideration.
But Harris' point is still valid - if they're willing to "deplatform" someone, they could deplatform you and if your income depends on that platform...
>deplatform
For some reason, that reminds me of an old Toolman quote:
"With every keystroke you're building value for someone else."
Patreon is cracking down on NSFW content

Seems like a business opportunity.

I can't stand open letters.
This is a massive opportunity for someone. Payment GW for adult stuff is not easy.
>I can't stand open letters.
Same.
That one struck me as weak & whine-y. The only thing they missed is somehow working in a reference to how the children will suffer.
Patreon should simply spin off an adult content service under another brand. Same software, same business model, new name.
