Life in Amazon warehouse 'revealed with timed toilet breaks and workers sleeping on their feet'

Staff reportedly face targets of processing 300 packages an hour during the exhausting work day

The Guardian is my go-to news source.  The Telegraph is excellent (but increasingly putting up paywalls).   BBC is good.

The Independent has, sadly, slipped into clickbait-headlined tabloid-ish coverage.  I miss that one.

Daily Mail and The Sun are never worth the click, just read the headline and think this is bullshit.

http://www.actionnewsjax.com/news/local/worker-talks-about-difficult-working-conditions-at-jacksonville-amazon-fulfillment-center/651062809 Here is a similar story from here in Jacksonville.

>>Staff are expected to process a package every nine seconds

When I worked at UPS we were expected to move a package every 2 seconds. 1500-1800. One every 9 seconds would be a cakewalk.

This just seems like a story about people not wanting to work hard rather than Amazon doing anything oppressive.

I think you're right. I don't think these people have ever had to work hard before.

From lm's link, top  CONS, #1:

"Work life balance is not easy to maintain" (in 1987 reviews)

They work 4 10s.
