First time I see this will be enough to finally push me to another browser.

Bummer. I'm avid FF user, but agreed Brad, that can't be good.

I was surprised to see this when FF updated, but honestly, I hardly ever see it.

I create a "dashboard" which is a local HTML file saved to Dropbox or similar that I set, on all machines, as my home page. Way better than bookmarks. When I open a new tab, I go to my dashboard and click on what I want or do a search. So far, I've barely noticed the stories injected in the new tabs.

To be fair
1. I don't use FF all that much
2. It's the only browser where I still have Pocket installed and Pocket fills the new tab with stories, some of them sponsored. So this is not a change I would be likely to notice (in fact, I though Pocket was mixing sponsored stories in with my "recently visited" thumbnail, but I guess it's FF... or possibly I just haven't actually seen it yet)
