It seems the Brits do not like mr. Oliver anymore? Personally I enjoy his shows and use some of his recepies from time to time.
He is alright. His steaks get laced with fucking lemon.
He is a bit pious though.
I truly do not know who he is. Some sort of celebrity chef, I guess. Probably has some sort of shitty reality show?
I may need to lower my firewall, hhh.
When he began, I liked him.
Then he got all HOLLYWOODish
Blimey, i thought he was doing alright guvnor, matey.
In Britain we used to call him a 'mockney' (mock Cockney, Cockney being a true east-ender).
I literally just had some tomato soup i'd made from one of his recipes, i prefer mine (without the carrot and celery).
Last week i made some of his veggie burgers (which have lemon zest in them) very nice.
Amazed that he owes so much money, thought his book sales always did well.
That's celevrity-chef-lovers for ya - fickle!
But lemon, on a steak. Lemon!
I can hear him now. "sthmasssssh it wiv lemon, pucka"
Hehehe.
It seems he is doing quite ok if you count his book sales etc.
>lemon
Sure, why not?
>I truly do not know who he is.
You, being pretty serious about what you eat and cook, never heard of him? Jamie Oliver?
I've never been a Jamie Oliver fan, always found him insincere with his accent and over the top style he always has when on camera
Can we just go back to the core issue though, Lemon.
A lemon has no place on a plate with a steak, I agree with you on that!
>lemon
But Martha Stewart does it:

The Greek has done it for ages.
Google has +100K for it as well: https://www.google.dk/search?client=firefox-b-ab&dcr=0&ei=_0qNWpOMLoH3kwW4ypioBg&q=%22lemon+on+steak
So, lemon on steak is a perfect valid serving. Lol.
Where are the Greeks now?
Number of search volume is no factor.

Speaking as a vegetarian, lemon on steak just sounds wrong.

we need a 'like' button on the posts.
I would probably dismiss lemon on steak except for the lovely dish I get weekly at a Persian restaurant, called a Barg kebab.
You squeeze lime over it. When I forget, it totally changes the flavor and is maybe half of the greatness.
So gimp, have you actually tried it?
I remember Jamie Oliver did a show talking about school lunches in the US, and he was stunned to see that there were some kids in the US who thought butter came from corn.
He didn't realize that the word "Butter" is a generic term for butter OR margarine.
And Drastic: Lemon and Lime are two different flavors. Lime on steak sounds pretty good. (And is GREAT on steak fajitas.)
Lemon...I'm not so sure. But I'll try anything.
>> So gimp, have you actually tried it?
Yeah, that's how I know Jamie Oliver's was shit on that day. I even got others to try it. They hated it.
lol fair enough!
I sometimes find him incredibly annoying, but I like him.
He seems to be more annoying in recorded shows. Pretty sure that directors are telling him to "essex it up a bit: Gurn more more and say some nonsense words". Live / more relaxed shows he is OK.
I like him because I think he is genuinely driven by a good conscience and that is too rare a thing in business.
I liked Oliver in his earlier years but once he got on the big "attack the commercial food industry" kick he went on a few years back he started getting annoying. Does he really think anyone who eats chicken nuggets cares that they use mechanically separated chicken?
And I would never think to put lemon on steak. I would use it in a marinade for some middle eastern steak dishes with some flank or skirt steak or something but never on a ribeye or NY strip or anything like that.
>about school lunches in the US
He (and I wept) for the US kids. If that was true - and I believe it was - the kids in the US are f-ed. I mean, WTF, is that crap they feed the kids and the nutritional guidelines are out of whack as well?
I love the US and ya'll, but ya need to get the food (and guns) under control.
>>but ya need to get the food (and guns) under control
Perfect solution! Give the kids guns and let them hunt their own food.

It's late I can't be arsed to think of anything good. I'll get my coat.
