I'm looking into having each of our city sites on a different c lass ip, so Cardiff - couk would be on a different one to Southampton - couk.
The ones I've found are seohosting.com, seohosting.co.uk, seohost.com...
Are there any that people would highly recommend?
As it's an ongoing cost, I'd like to keep the cost down ;)
is there actually a benefit to keeping them seperate? It sounds like they're all very similar sites (for a genuine reason) so would they be associated by footprint, registration, template etc anyway?
There is some natural linking between the sites, but as far as I am aware, this is not of any benefit from an seo point of view as they are on on same c class ip.
many might disagree with me here, but I wouldn't worry about changing hosting.
I don't personally believe that the same class C absolutely precludes some link benefit passing, but more than that, I *do* believe that making an obvious attempt to game things can cause problems. (if your sites are clearly owned by the same person and have previously been on the same class-c, moving them to seperate ones while clearly retaining the same ownership, especially on a host called something SEO friendly, looks fairly dodgy if you happen to get a manual inspection)
Unless the rest of your SEO is so perfect you can't make gains elsewhere and/or you believe these links to be especially valuable, I wouldn't spend time or money on it (again a personal view) and get the same number of extra links from elsewhere - probably less money, certainly less hassle and likely more benefit.
OK - Many thanks.
Also, if you did switch, you'd want to go with custom nameservers since that's also a footprint for all on the same host.
