We are due for another CoreCon meetup.
I was thinking it might be best to keep it near where RC Jordan resides.
Ruth Ann and I stayed at a Marriott on the beach this weekend that we both thought met all CoreCon criteria. Next time Louise Jordan visits Wilmington she might want to check it out.

Walk across the street to the Best Restaurant in town.

Stayed there 10 years ago. Carolina Beach is one of my favorites --the last of the old 'family beach towns' but that's fading away as the resort aspect takes over.
We've done the beaches a lot, though.
Drastic, what about Greenville SC in May?
Mackin, what about Asheville, NC? We had a great time in Wilmington and Asheville has much the same 'feel' --except more of a general travel destination. Very campy, foodie, slightly upscale. Mountains.
Dunno what the airport is like, though.
Asheville would be a good spot.
Ruth Ann says that she likes the idea of Greenville SC
BUT
Asheville, NC is very foodie and we both like that.

The Marriott is way to expensive BUT the rooftop area is made for Th3Core.

Baltimore Ave is the place to be for Brew & Food

WE would recommend Cúrate

DRAS?
I'm going to have to ditch Pubcon this year, but a Corecon in '19 is an absolute priority! Sounds like a plan!
Rumbas, how about giving a quick look at flights to Asheville, NC from CPH? I'd expect it to be slightly easier than Wilmington, but really have no idea.
Seems there are a few going CPH -> ORD (Chicago) -> AVL but with a looong layover ~14 hours. Around $1K
Another one is CPH -> EWR (Newark) -> AVL. Short 2 hour layover, but a price tag of around $2k.
Pricewise, ILM would be the same afaik.
Checked May 2019 - it might change for the better the closer we get..
I fly out of the Asheville airport often. It is small, but well done and the flights have always been on time. There were two discount airlines that were bought by larger carriers and the leg to Asheville was killed off, which immediately raised the airfares of the other carriers by about 30%.
The food is excellent in Asheville.
Greenville, SC is undergoing a ton of construction on the freeway and it is a mess, but should be done by next year. The food in Greenville compares to Asheville, and the river walk is awesome. From my memory the flights to the Greenville airport are better than Asheville and the airport is solid.
I am interested. ;)
As in the past, late April thru mid-May tends to be when CoreCon happens in the US --just ahead of graduations, wedding season, & summer vacations.
The REDNECK from South Carolina had a death in the family and will join us shortly.
Sorry y'all, been AWOL.
I am down for ash/gvl or where ever you guys want to go. Say when/where and I'm in.
Greenville is kinda boring for traditional corecon. Better for shooting guns and going water skiing and such. AVL would be a better fit IMO. Buncha hipsters tho.
Please HOLD May 10th & 11th 2019 OPEN ;D Asheville, NC
>HOLD May 10th & 11th 2019 OPEN Asheville, NC
Barring the unforeseen, I'm in.
Count me in!
