Title: Word cloud from a site
Post by: Rupert on November 30, 2018, 11:44:24 AM
I want to be able to show on one screen a picture of what a site looks like to a search engine. Its multi page/catagory/product so like a sites, complex.

I found a tool that looks at a page:
https://seositecheckup.com/tools/keywords-cloud

But does not spider the whole site. I cannot see anything on Ahrefs or Majestic, (although know neither that well)

Screaming Frog seems to get part way there, but again only per page with the visualisations.

I guess it is quite complex to do cross site, but I think would give a huge amount of value.

Anyone know who does it?

OK got some data from Screaming frog, and then put it into https://www.wordclouds.com/.

Neat tool. The next question becomes what text does google really read? I realised why "Islands" was top of the weighting list... its the number if times the word is used in a drop-down of countries:

E.G. <option value="VG">British Virgin Islands</option>

I have never thought of "islands" as a stop word before.  Is this thinning my content? or even "please" or "account".

This list:
https://www.uk.link-assistant.com/seo-stop-words.html
(no idea how well researched it is but it contains "please" but not the other two.

Humph... back to the drawing board.
