In the video I saw the robot in crosswalk, don't underestimate the current sense of entitlement car drivers have these days. They barely stop for little kids in the crosswalk - a robot pffft. Heck, people have started ignoring school buses with their stop signs out.
That little 'bot would be relatively safe from thieves in my neighborhood, but in some places you'd find it broken open and gutted in a field somewhere.
My bet is that Travoli will see one first.

I agree that they will get messed with. I can also see local officials outlawing the bots, they could sight safety hazards but the real motivation will be employment loss. New Jersey and Oregon don't even let people pump their own gas.
