>smart tv

We covered that here years ago; Buy a monitor! We said. Did they listen? NOooooooo.

Expecting the 'slippery slope', I don't use GA. I use two G Minis as speakers in the smarthome integration, but I keep the mic switched off and the speakers have their own, inactive email account. The ten or so Alexa products are used 99% for voice control of lights & appliances, timers, and reminders. I off-loaded the repeat reminder to the smarthome hub using a local-only app written for Hubitat.

I hope to keep the household systems relatively simple and straightforward, but I keep my eye on PI-hole just in case.

Is it my imagination or is Google digging themselves a hole even faster than before?

...OR they've passed the point where they feel they can be held accountable.

Senator McConnell, it'd be a shame if someone were to publish your Chrome search history, wouldn't it? Now, about that privacy legislation...

Somebody pointed out that Google at least pretended to be all warm and fuzzy while there was still real competition left around.
