Title: Android based e-ink tablet
Post by: littleman on April 20, 2019, 03:02:05 AM
I'm thinking I'd like to get a largish e-ink tablet to read from, something around 10 inches.  They run on the more expensive side which makes me reluctant to make the purchase.  We'd be using it mostly to read the newspaper.  Anyone here have experience with one?

Why e-ink?  FWIW, I have the 10" HD Fire tablet used mostly as a control panel for the smarthome stuff. Works fine. If you plan to mostly read, it has the Kindle app.  There are APKs which allow Fires to access the Playstore for non-Amz android apps.

I particularly like the easel-style charging dock. Very convenient.  Whole rig is relatively inexpensive.

Mostly to reduce eye strain and lower light exposure in the evening hours.  We bought a Nook years back it was pretty nice for reading.  Something larger, more modern and android based would be nice for reading newspaper.
