I guess I am the rare American who wishes we went all metric. Probably half of all practical measurements are already metric hear anyway.
Nearly all of the technical medical stuff is metric. About the only things that are not are patient weight & height.

The problem with the metric system is they picked names that are very hard to rhyme with anything.
And in any case, what I really want is metric time. I rarely have to add six feet four inches plus twelve feet nine inches, but I often have to add 4 hours 38 minutes and 3 hours 46 minutes. The French revolutionaries tried to remake the calendar (and did remake the calendar, though it didn't last). I wish they had done the clock too!

47 years ago. When I was in 4th grade (1971-72) they told us all to learn metric because the imperial units were going away. Canada started changing their road signs that year and, living just 45 miles from the border, they started putting up signs with both in Vermont... and then nothing.
