Australia has had DAB+ radio for some years now and many cars have it as standard. It repeats all the AM and FM stations and has many more digital-only stations. It's nice to have the clock in sync and to see the names of the songs on the radio display.

Agree about devices replacing features in cars. I have a Garmin GPS+dashcam that also has lane departure warning and forward collision warning.

I used PRWeb's premium service in 2006 and it's not in the SERPs today. I also submitted to about 25 free and very cheap PR sites and today only two of those remain in the SERPs:

I have seen Google advertise for such raters in Australia some years ago.

It's quicker to pull out the phone and start the QR code reader than to type in a long URL, since these usually point to a special landing page and not the home page. In Australia, my phone company doesn't include a reader with the iPhone they stock and I had to add it manually. This would be a barrier to adoption.

3-4 years ago a previous employer (Yellow Pages) had done a trial of placing the codes in shop windows and one of the issues was that glass interferes with proper reading of the code. I wasn't close to the trial but the people involved were put off that idea for good.

Nothing so complicated.  In that example, I am Acme SEO (an agency) but I want to call my page "London SEO" because that is my money term.  In my limited testing of other people's pages, keyword-rich page titles in FB are not ranking in the top 10 unless the phrases also happen to be brands.

e.g. FB/SESconf has its full name as the page title and it ranks in the top 4 for the brand phrase.

BK, a lot of food for thought. The bank I consult to has a constant challenge of a low take-up of Internet banking (IIRC <50% but that's not an easy number to calculate, there being many products). In addition to the "old people who don't go online" demographic, there are younger people who are Internet savvy but just don't trust it with their banking.

I notice that many businesses are using their (future) custom URL name, e.g. brand name, as their Page name. Has anyone looked into using a keyword-rich page name (a phrase) but picking a brand name for the URL?

e.g. (fictitious) facebook.com/acme is the custom name but page title is "London SEO"

FWIW, I tried some searches and FB pages are not at the top for anything I checked.
