Apparently, someone was using this forum to do mass IP lookup.  I updated the software and version of PHP to the latest and disabled host lookup.

Looks like 2026 may be far worse than 2025? AI seems to be a space that is less hurt by tariffs, shortage of low pay labor or the cutting off of resources like SNAP. 

The index page and recent topics pages are basically the same thing, but the difference is that the recent topics page is in the forum directory so the cookies are recognized by SMF so it will show all the boards you are a part of, including the "inner core" posts.

Looks like either the cpanel or the old version of SMF had a vulnerability that was letting in an exploit in.  I took care of the SMF update.  We'll see if that fixes the problem.

Let me know if there is any functionality improvements that you would like to see.

I've been looking at jobs in the Bay Area and there are a lot if SEO/PPC/Internet Marketing/Social Media jobs that are paying just slightly more than or even equal to fast food work.  It's really sad to see.  I suppose there are a lot of reasons -- the rise of Amazon, the fall of search engines in quality and as reliable sources of organic (free) traffic, over promising for decades, too many people thinking they know what they are doing, lower ROI in PPC and probably many others.  The golden age has been over for a long time now, but this is beyond that.

I may be leaving a little cash on the table by not taking crypto contributions.   What's a simple way receive payments and convert them to USD?  I am not really interested in holding crypto currency.

I have a long neglected site that still modestly earns from adsense.  I am hopefully about to get a lot more traffic to it.  Anybody here still plugging away with adsense and have any tips for maximizing earnings?  I noticed that I have "auto ads" off, but can't recall why I did that.  I am  sure there have been changes in strategies in the last 15 years.

I did a couple of questions on Reddit about a specific topic, then 10 minutes later I did a search in DDG where I searched for a series of words I used in my post on Reddit.  My posts on Reddit were in the top of DDG's results.  Somehow they seem to have a direct pipeline into  Reddit in near real time -- really interesting!
