Water Cooler / Google / Firefox
January 28, 2012, 09:50:02 PM
Mozilla is a non-profit organization

Is there anyway for a for-profit organization such as Google to acquire a non-profit organization?

I'm sure they've thought of it, but considering the important of the browser market, and how little market share Chrome has, it seems like a natural fit for Google to acquire Firefox.

If it is feasible.

Traffic / Adcenter Campaigns
July 14, 2011, 04:29:39 PM
Has anyone experienced a lot of problems with Adcenter campaigns getting shut down by their QA team?

We keep running into this wall over and over again.  We'll get campaigns up and running and within a few days they'll have 0 clicks and almost 0 impressions.  When we talk to Adcenter they always give us a bullshit reason about why the campaign was paused by their QA team.

Is it us or does Adcenter just suck?

Traffic / PPC Campaign Creation at Scale
July 01, 2011, 11:35:03 PM
We're getting deeper into the business of PPC now (this historically wasn't our area of focus) and since we've proven the business model it is time to scale it up

I know some of you guys are heavy into PPC

Are there any specific tools you use that are helpful in scaling the creation of lists/ads/campaigns?

Water Cooler / Need Laptop Suggestions
May 06, 2011, 07:53:45 PM
I'm going to buy the wife a laptop for Mother's day...last minute, I know.

I don't stay current or know what the best laptops are.

She wants one of the mini ones.

I don't want to spend a ton of cash, but I also don't want to go cheapo and get a POS that will break in a year.  And she isn't a Mac person.

Any suggestions?

We have 2 projects ready that require a PHP programmer.

One of the projects requires hooking up to the Oodle API and building out webpages based on their feed.

Another one of the projects requires scraping a site every hour, looking for specific elements, and then aggregating content from other sources based on those elements.

For both projects we will provide the designs, page template requirements, and copy. You will be responsible for creating the HTML, any database, and PHP pages.

Shoot me a message if you're interested
