Just got a box of awesomeness in the mail yesterday. It sums up the South for me and thanks for introducing me to it Drastic and RC :)

(Don't ask how much shipping and import tax was, but let's just say I really wanted it)

oooh, this looks like good stuff!

Anyone want my Tropical/English/Indian chilli sauce recipe - THE BASTARD?  I also have a great fast burger for the 'new to cooking'.  Combined they make a great meal.

Funny you brought this up because a few days ago I got some no name BBQ sauce and and it was so good I actually took a swig right out of the bottle and then I started thinking that could become a good marketing slogan.

So you better post some pics of the end result...

OK, this is how you make it -

1. Fry half a chopped red onion, until soft
2. add 2 chopped Scotch Bonnet chilli peppers (only these ones will do.  Easy to grow, wear gloves while chopping, or your fingers will burn.)
3. add 500g chopped tomaotes (tinned will do)
4. add lots of ground black pepper and a dash of salt
5. add 1 tablespoon of lime pickle
6. add quarter of a pineapple, chopped

7. Cook on a medium heat for at least 30 mins, over an hour if you have time, then mash or blend.

8. As it cools, add 2 shots of vodka

9.  Put into a jar, it keep quite a while in the fridge.


Take care when eating, you only need a tiny amount.  It has a fresh flavour from the fruit, followed by as much heat as you will ever need.  Enjoy.......if you dare!

It is amazing to me how different the BBQ sauces are. 

Kansas City BBQ sauce is super thick and sweet, while Texas BBQ sauce is thin and so smokey it nearly brings tears to the eyes.
