Re-positioning a site

I have a site which was built around a set of keywords a while back.  The way it made money has kind of died out and I want to re-position it for a new set of (similar) keywords.  It is a quality site and has good content.

Other than steering the content and on site seo towards the new keywords and building links with the new anchor text, is there anything else I should look at doing?

I guess linking out the the authority sites in the new topic area is also a good idea
