I'm up to 1.25 L of black coffee day + 2 L water.  My basic metabolic labs keep coming in good-to-very-good which is befuddling the nephrologists as they routinely restrict coffee or require more water intake to offset its diuretic effects.

Related?: My MayoC-trained urologist has had me on a cancer watch (bi-annual CT scans) for 6 years now because my kidney cancer was particularly aggressive and was 'guaranteed' to return. He has commented a few times now that he's puzzled -but glad - that it hasn't.

So make sure your coffee isn't too hot. Unfortunately, I like my tea very hot. Always disappointed in restaurants because it's never hot enough.

Also, there may be a dose/response curve that levels out after the first gallon of coffee.

Anyway, I need to get to bed before Santa catches me up.

Speaking of which, there has been some good scientific research on Santa lately, particularly how many calories he eats and burns in his dash around the globe.
