For the first time is awhile I've had to use Bing to search for something to buy.
And guess what... Bing turned up trumps. Loads of independents offering products at good prices and great customer service.

Google on the other hand wants to show me brands like BHS, Marks&Spencer, John Lewis etc, including links to ebay and ehow articles.

EPIC FAIL in my view and only a matter of time for the average Joe to realise.... I hope!

Yep, I've been having lots of trouble with G search lately.

- Multiple results from the same unwanted site(s)

- G changing my keywords without even mentioning it, highlighting the new, albeit similar, but different key in the snippets producing irrelevant results

- SERP result listing redirect not working or taking a while to actually redirect

- SERP taking a while to load, or G's site very slow loading in general

- just poor relevance overall

Bing has been getting more of my searches, not because they're necessarily getting better, G is just getting worse.

Google still works for me, it just takes twice as long

- clicking "verbatim"
- putting my query in again when i click on the news tab
- adding - or quotes
- instant just slows everything down because im typing too fast to care what the intermediate results are
- avoiding geo redirects

very annoying. i use bing occasionally and should use it more.

If I had to put a finger on it, I would say it started going down hill when Larry took the reins from Eric.

I've had a few issues myself.  G wanted to change "condenser" to "evaporator" when I was looking for a new part for my car.  For most searches I find myself typing the words in the wrong order to try and find non spammy yahoo answer type results or using "" and -.  This is without mentioning shopping, news, places getting in the way.

Snap.
Default search on FF has been bing for a bit.  I use google for work, but not for personal stuff so much now.

If I want Amazon, Ebay and M&S, I go there. Don't need Google for that any more.

Bing (and consequently DuckDuckGo) still has too many auto generated sites slipping through (ie. happytanklesshotwaterheaters.com, tankless-water-heaters-city.com, buyingtanklesswaterheaterblog.com) into the top ranks.  Google seems too weighted towards big brands, less MFA and affiliate sites but some still slip through.  As has been said, Bing allows some smaller brands to gain higher ranking which can be very useful.

DuckDuckGo, (mainly powered by Bing) has become my main search and only rarely do I feel the need to use Google.  I've also been using Blekko more and have been quite happy with the results.

Trip Advisor is one of the sites I love, their SEO strategy and implementation is killer.  I especially love how they avoid dupe content by using geo targeting.

Had to find something unique and miniscule today. Only one result in bing for a long string in quotes. None in G.

Anecdotal, but still...
