I've long championed lime green and orange (in pastel shades).  Over the years, I've moved more to teal and blue.

QuoteDid you know that the color red has been proven to increase consumers heart rates? Or that purple is used to create a sense of calm in customers?

The next time you reach for a black or orange item, realize that you've fallen prey to the impulse shopper portion of the retail color wheel.

Check out the infographic below to see how retailers believe you'll respond to the subtle art of color choice.

Ha.  I knew there was a reason I always gravitate to yellows, blues and greens.
Could use a few more orange/red cues on "submit" buttons though, I suppose.

There's a member here who I've watched fine-tune his ecomm site for over a decade now.  The site is, in a word, elegant.  Over the years, I've noted that he's moved from "eighty-four shades of grey" to more and more purple.  I was looking over the site just 2 weeks ago and muttering WTH is he doing with all that purple?  Now I know. He's soothing and reassuring them before he takes their money.  I'll add that his big SAVE button is in red.

That's why Howard Johnson's used to do so well, eh?

Good landing page and also some more background into the roles of colours (the proper way to spell the word).
