Google Sites -- What kind of PR does it pass?

Just saw an ad for "google sites".  Has anyone worked with this?  I'm thinking it might be a good way to get a new site indexed, if nothing else, but curious to know if the domain is "site.google.com" or what.

I haven't, but someone saw a FB ad and pointed me to http://www.gbbo.co.uk/ the other day, and from there you can find a sample site http://www.stretchnstamina.co.uk/, the code looks quite interesting.

I think the idea is that they create a 'virtual page'' with a link - if these get spidered, you do too etc.

Not convinced they add much value, but so easy to do that it is worth doing.
