Disruption is a bitch, isn't it?

and they have to bear the cost of subsidised TV Licences for oap's now too.

I feel a bit sorry for the Beeb at the moment - they do good stuff overall but they're stuck in that inbetween world of having to meet requirements but being unable to do what a normal company would do to enable that... really if we expect a public broadcasting company to last and not be financed by advertising it will have to come under a different auspice where we all pay for it whether we watch it or not

(I know this is controversial but I pay for a lot of things via my taxes which I don't use. In fact considering I have no kids, rarely use the NHS and had to pay privately for my grandparents long term care as there were no NHS spaces, don't have a standard refuse collection, streetlights etc where I live and have only claimed 2 weeks unemployment in the past 30 years I don't have much sympathy for the "I don't use it I shouldn't pay for it" argument!)
