Quoteo give you some context as to how insanely lame these numbers are, Expedia.com received 59,400,000 Visits in May 2017. This post accomplished 75+7+3. More people walk into the Expedia lobby in Bellevue, WA, every second of every minute.

QuoteIs the Huge Audience on Social Media Platforms Completely Useless?

NO!

There are a couple of billion people on Facebook (and billions or hundreds of millions on other Social channels). From an advertising perspective, that's still an audience that might be of value to your business.

Kill your organic Social strategy completely, switch to a paid Social Media strategy.

By and large isn't the problem the same for most social ad campaigns?

How many years did Facebook sell likes as ad units for (before introducing their EdgeRank feature which later nixed the value of those likes).

Part of why Twitter ads are quite terrible is there isn't much commercial intent in a retweet unless your product/brand is so loved (Apple, Nintendo, etc.) that you have no need to buy any retweets as every major press release gets widespread coverage by the media & then the media pushes their coverage hard on Twitter.

When I tested running Facebook ads last year I targeted them to desktop-only & US-only, yet saw some wonderful $2 Android mobile clicks from Canada mixed in.
