When being #1 with G insert in a competitive serp kills your CTR

I'm seeing more and more G inserts at the top of the serp that essentially tell me everything I wanted to know without clicking through.  2017 daylight savings, for example.

I've been wondering lately whether or not Google has hurt calculator sales. I find it too much of a hassle to open a new app and in the old days I would often have a calculator on my desktop. Now I just type almost any formula into Google - even trig functions work. If only I could remember any trig.
